“Youth-specific sexual and gender minority state-level policies: Implications for pronoun, name, and bathroom/locker room use among gender minority youth” has been published in Journal of Youth and Adolescence!
This study investigated the impact of two youth-specific SGM state-level policies, anti-LGBT laws and conversion therapy bans, on social transition experiences of gender minority youth (GMY). GMY in states with anti-LGBT laws (i.e., states that have “Don’t Say Gay” regulations or laws that prevent schools or districts from adding SGM protections to anti-bullying and anti-discrimination policies) reported less correct pronoun and name use than GMY who resided in states without these laws.
