New Paper Alert: Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use, anticipated PrEP stigma, and bisexual identity among a Black and Hispanic/Latino sexual and gender diverse sample

“Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use, anticipated PrEP stigma, and bisexual identity among a Black and Hispanic/Latino sexual and gender diverse sample” has just been published in Behavioral Medicine!

The study utilized data from 3 waves of a national longitudinal study to characterize Black and Hispanic/Latino sexual minority men and gender diverse (SMMGD) participants’ PrEP use. It was found that bisexual Black and Hispanic/Latino SMMGD had lower odds of PrEP continuation and higher odds of PrEP discontinuation relative to their gay counterparts. Also, compared to gay SMMGD, bisexual SMMGD reported higher anticipated PrEP stigma.
