New Paper Alert: PrEP access affected by COVID-19 is associated with increased odds of HIV seroconversion

PrEP access affected by COVID-19 is associated with increased odds of HIV seroconversion has been published in Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes!

The study how pandemic-related changes to PrEP access and sexual activity influence sexually transmitted infection (STI) status and HIV seroconversion among Black and Hispanic/Latino sexual minority men and gender diverse (SMMGD) individuals. It was found that SMMGD who reported greater impact to their sexual activity during the pandemic and a greater number of sexual partners were more likely to report a positive STI test. Also, compared with those who did not report pandemic-related changes to PrEP access, SMMGD who did report changes to PrEP access had significantly higher odds of HIV seroconversion.
