“Examining mental health and bullying concerns at the intersection of sexuality, gender, race, and ethnicity among a national sample of sexual and gender diverse youth” has just been published in LGBT Health!
The study took an intersectional approach and examined depressive/anxiety symptoms and victimization among a national sample of 12,822 sexual and gender diverse youth (SGDY). Findings revealed that first, transgender boys in particular had the highest prevalence for worsened mental health and peer- based victimization. Interestingly, there were no racial/ethnic differences. Additionally, it was found that Asian cisgender and transgender girl SGDY reported the lowest burden of peer-based victimization in school.
